Heartist Intellectual Property Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Respect for creators' rights
Heartist is built by and for creators, so we take intellectual property seriously. We expect everyone who publishes on Heartist to have the rights to do so, and we act when a rights holder tells us otherwise.
2. Reporting an infringement
If you believe content on Heartist infringes your copyright, trademark or another right, send a notice to copyright@heartist.app containing:
- your name, address, email and phone number, and the rights holder you represent;
- a description of the work you say has been infringed;
- the address (URL) of the content on Heartist, so we can find it;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the rights holder;
- your signature, electronic is fine.
Notices that are incomplete may take longer to handle. Knowingly sending a false notice can have legal consequences.
3. What we do
When we receive a valid notice we promptly remove or disable the content, and tell the person who published it, with a copy of the notice. We may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.
4. Counter-notice
If you think content was removed by mistake or that you have the right to use it, reply to our message with your explanation and the reasons you believe you are authorised (for example, a licence or a clearance of the sample). We will pass it on to the person who complained. If they do not take the matter to court or another authority within a reasonable time, we may restore the content.
5. The Heartist brand
“Heartist” and its logo are Heartist's marks. You may not use them in a way that suggests an endorsement or affiliation we have not agreed to. Artists may link to their Heartist page and use the “Listen on Heartist” wording in promoting it.
