Heartist Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to discover music and to run their creative work on Heartist, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
2. What we do
- Semantic page structure, with landmarks, headings and labels for every form control.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text and controls designed for sufficient colour contrast, and status never shown by colour alone.
- Meaningful text alternatives for images, and a player that can be operated and announced by screen readers.
- Layouts that adapt to small screens and zoom, and animations that respect your reduced-motion setting.
3. Known limitations
Some content is published by creators, and may lack descriptions of images, audio or video that we cannot add ourselves. We encourage creators to describe their work, and are improving the tools that help them do so. Some pages, such as the creators' press kits, use each creator's own visual identity, and can have contrast that we cannot always guarantee.
4. Tell us about a barrier
If you cannot use part of Heartist, or find a problem, write to support@heartist.app with the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use. We answer within five working days and will tell you how we plan to fix it.
