Heartist User Guidelines

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. The spirit of Heartist

Heartist exists so great music finds its people. Be respectful, be honest about who you are and what you sell, and credit the work of others. These guidelines apply to everything you publish or send: profiles, posts, tracks, artwork, shop items, messages and contact notes.

2. What is not allowed

  • Hate and harassment: content that attacks people for who they are, threatens, bullies or stalks.
  • Violence and dangerous acts, including glorifying them or inciting them.
  • Sexual content involving minors in any form, and non-consensual or exploitative sexual content. Both are reported to the authorities.
  • Illegal goods and services, scams, phishing, counterfeit merchandise and misleading offers.
  • Impersonation of artists, labels, companies or Heartist staff.
  • Spam: unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive posts, and artificial plays, follows, likes or reviews.
  • Privacy violations: publishing other people's private information, or contact lists you have no right to hold.
  • Content you do not have the rights to publish (see the Intellectual property policy).

3. Music and creative work

You may only upload music and artwork you made or are licensed to distribute. Covers, remixes and samples need the permission of the rights holders. Label tracks and podcasts correctly (music or podcast), and set an honest price: a free track must be free.

Strong creative expression is welcome, but explicit content must be marked as such, and nothing that breaks the rules above is allowed.

4. Selling on Heartist

Describe items accurately, ship what you sell and respond to buyers. Do not sell anything that breaks the law or the rules above, and do not take buyers off the platform to avoid its checkout.

5. Professional contacts

In the workspace, only note information about promoters, venues and agencies that is relevant to doing business with them. Respect their wishes if they ask you to stop contacting them, and follow the laws on marketing messages that apply to you.

6. Reporting and enforcement

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, write to support@heartist.app with a link and a short explanation. We review reports, and we may remove content, limit features or close accounts. Serious or repeated breaches lead to permanent removal. If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message and we will look again.
